Prasonisi Wing Camp 2025

Soaring Over Rhodes: A Wing Foil Journey

JP & NP Wing Camp @Pro center Prasonisi - An experience report from the perspective of Camp Participant Franziska Hacker.

The third edition of the JP-Australia/NeilPryde Wing Foil Camp at Pro Center Prasonisi was nothing short of unforgettable. For the first time, the complete JP/NeilPryde Pro Wing Team was present as coaches: Kylie Belloeuvre, Vinnicius Martins, and—making his debut at the camp—Riccardo Zorzi. I was lucky enough to join them, learning alongside the 20 other riders.

Prasonisi, on the southern tip of Rhodes, is simply the perfect setup for a wing foil camp. The peninsula narrows to less than 50 meters, with flat water on one side and playful waves on the other. A short walk lets you change your riding playground completely. Add to that crystal-clear water, a fully stocked gear station, and a crew who always go the extra mile—Jutta and Christof make anything possible—and you have a dream foil playground. Even when the forecast looked uncertain, the wind delivered, just like in the last three years.

The camp schedule kept us busy and inspired: morning and afternoon sessions, tech talks on the beach, video analysis with GoPro footage following us on the water, and wave clinics led by Vinni, our Brazilian wave pro. Kylie and Ricky shared their expertise mainly on the flat-water side, riding alongside us, coaching on the move, and always pushing for progression. By midweek, the conditions ramped up—stronger winds, proper waves—and so did the challenges. From nailing first jibes to learning tacks, jibe variations, carving 360s, and even attempting jumps and rotations, the level across the group rose every single day.

The sessions on the water were matched by the evenings off it. One highlight was the barbecue at the center, watching the sun sink over the Aegean while the JP/NeilPryde pro riders put on a freestyle show that left everyone buzzing. Between the coaching, the camaraderie, and the simple joy of foiling in such an epic spot, the vibe of the camp was unbeatable.

Looking back, I can honestly say I learned as much never learned before on my wing gear. This camp is the kind of experience that makes you progress, not just in skills but in passion. I know I’ll be back for the next edition, for the wind, the waves, the friends—and yes, for the Greek food too.
