Oisín, our Irish team rider, has been sailing on NeilPryde for almost 30 years (and JP for 25). With nearly four decades in windsurfing, he has mastered every discipline while still pushing his own limits and making the most of every windy day.
A versatile sailor, he moves seamlessly between waves, slalom, freestyle, speed sailing, foiling, and even winging. His playground is the Irish coastline: chasing powerful Atlantic storms in the west, flying at speed between wave sessions, or foiling almost daily in lighter winds on the east coast.
Driven by the challenge of making the best of every condition, he sharpened his skills through competition, earning over 30 National Champion titles across multiple disciplines. For him, it was never about beating others, but about sailing at 100% of his ability and always improving.
In recent years, Oisín fulfilled a dream by competing at the Luderitz Speed Challenge, speedsailing’s ultimate stage. Despite being one of the lightest sailors there, he chased the 50-knot barrier, coming incredibly close with an Irish Sailing Speed Record of 49.87 knots over 500m.
For him, it was never about the record, but about testing limits and sailing alongside the world’s fastest riders in 55–60 knots – a lifelong goal achieved. He has no plans to slow down, believing the right conditions could still push him faster. Until then, he continues to enjoy waves, foiling in all its forms, and the freedom that windsurfing brings every day.
