Growing up in the coastal Cornish town of Marazion, UK, Justin felt a connection to the ocean from an early age, always spending time in the water and beginning to surf in their youth. Although their water sports pursuits took a backseat during later teenage years and early adulthood—due to work, relocating, and starting a family—their passion was reignited at 30 when they discovered windsurfing, and they were instantly hooked. After winning the BWA Masters UK title in 2016, a knee injury the following year unfortunately brought an end to their competitive sailing. The recovery was challenging, and returning to the water wasn’t the same, making windsurfing painful.
