From the windy lakes of the Dutch west coast to international waters—windsurfing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up watching my dad sail on his on old Neilpryde RS slalom, and when I first stepped on a board at 9 years old, I was instantly hooked.
At 14, I started training seriously together with fellow Neilpryde teamrider Dennis Klaaijsen, and what began as a passion quickly turned into something much bigger. Over the past years I have been competing both in the Netherlands and abroad.
I live just minutes away from my local lake, and with the North Sea also nearby, I’ve got access to all kinds of conditions. That variety is what keeps me going —flatwater speed, choppy onshore winds, or foil sessions in light breeze. It’s all part of the game.
I’m also super active on GPS-speedsurfing, constantly chasing the next PB. My current top speed is over 90 km/h, and I’m always trying to push that number even further. That feeling of flying over the water, with the board on the rail and the nose lifted still gives me chills, every time
