Thanks for the photos to (Jean Souville, JM Cornu)

He did it again – for the 2nd consecutive time: Massive congratulations to Nicolas Warembourg on finishing FIRST out of 1,200 competitors at the 19th edition of the Defi Wind.
2 grueling long distance races were completed in beautiful 25 knot Tramontana winds. The windsurfing world turned out in force and the whole weekend was filled with demos, parties and clinics. Everybody had a great time!

Here is what Nico had to say:

This year was special because all top PWA riders were present for this Défi Wind in Gruissan. It’s my principal goal of my sportive year and I made a very long and serious preparation during 6 months. We worked a lot with Werner since few years to find good balance between performance slalom and long distance boards.
The conditions during both races were not my favorite (between 16-25 knots) but really perfect so that every amateur riders can complete the races safely and with fun.
My speed was very good and I was particularly fast on the tactical starboard reach. It is really strange feeling to win both races in front of 1200 riders!
In my both races, I use my Evo XI 7.0 with my JP Slalom 62 and 32 fin size.
