Vinnicius Martins has won the 19th annual Key West Classic. Vinnicius’ hard earned victory came after a battle against the 5th ranked paddler in the world, Kelly Margetts, and a two-time Key West Classic champion, Larry Cain.
Vinnicius was happy to win the prestigious and grueling 12-mile race around the island of Key West.
“I still can’t believe that I’ve won a big international race, it was amazing to paddle side by side until the end with two great paddlers,” said Vinnicius.
The Key West Classic, now almost two decades old, has grown from a small kayak and paddleboard race into one of Florida’s premiere stand up paddle race, attracting hundreds of paddlers from across the state and around the world.
