My trip to Germany for the second stop of the World Series was really quick but very productive !

I’ve arrived in Scharbeutz the day before the race and met JP’s brand manager in Europe, Lars, and some of the German team riders. We had a barbecue with nice German food and went to sleep to get prepared for the next days of racing.

Although being a little tired from the trip, I was really motivated to race and the nice vibes and conditions of the event place were even more motivating. Using the new 2017 paddle and board made it really exciting for me to paddle and compete !

Day 1 – Sprints:

I had some hard heats and made some little mistakes which cost me a few positions on the early rounds, but I still made it to the finals. And the most important thing was that I would not repeat those mistakes.

In the final, I had a really nice run and finished top 3 among some of the best paddlers in the world – a result that surprised me even though I knew how hard I’ve been training to get better in this kind of race !

Day 2 – Long Distance:

The tough long distance race was “just” 10 km long and the ocean was really flat but there were some brutal up wind legs on the course! I didn’t have my best race ever but still finished with a solid 7th place that secured my 4th place on the Overall Result which was –until now– my best result on a World Series Event.

Straight after the prize giving I’ve jumped on a train to the airport and fly back to Brasil the same night. I need to continue my trainings for the “Molokai_2_Oahu” race at the end of next month !

Thanks and Best Regards
